Paintball

“Go!” shouts the ref. I run and slide into cover behind a tarp grass stains magically appearing on my pant legs. A loud thump comes from the other side of the tarp. The first shot of the game. These first few moments of the epic game of paintball can decide who wins and who loses. Although this game is not for the faint of heart it is still one of the most fun things ever. The popping sound of guns, the crying of wimps that got shot more than once all these sounds contribute to paintball’s remake of war. On the battlefield you realize it’s shoot or be shot as that little tingle of adrenaline heightens your senses and makes everything slow down to a crawl and gives you all the time in the world. The strange taste of paint from the last match where you got shot in the mouth of your mask makes you spit it out and thirst for vengeance. After seeing that one guy run to a log you charge always keeping a good sense of what’s behind you. Finally, you come up behind him and shoot him to the ground. Feeling awesome you walk away knowing that you just won the game.

  1. I thought you had great description! I could easily picture the event you were portraying in my head. I especially like the part where you said, "The strange taste of paint from the last match where you got shot in the mouth of your mask makes you spit it out and thirst for vengeeance." Great job! :)

  2. You described the last sentences very clearly. "Finally, you come up behind him and shoot him to the ground. Feeling awesome you walk away knowing that you just won the game." I can almost see this happening. Good job at using descriptive words!
