Yes But...

I find it exceedingly frustrating when I’m in a conversation and somebody replies with a “yes but…” statement. Nothing is quite as annoying as having all of your points contradicted. I understand that they are “just trying to give their point of view” but sometimes I’m just not in the mood to feel inferior to their “superior” points.

Throught* my life, I’ve met plenty of people who feel smarter then everyone else, they also feel the need to broadcast that to the whole world. Some people do this by attempting to sound smart when they talk, some by talking about how much they “love calculus”, some by extending the class by asking the teacher insane questions but in my mind, the most annoying is using “yes but…” statements in every conversation.

As everyone knows, you can never be right with these types of people. There is always a contradiction or something wrong with what you said (weather you are right or not.) I don’t recall ever meeting someone who enjoyed being wrong, it’s just not how the human brain works. It totally “cramps my style” when “yes but…” statements are the only replies I get in a conversation. The end.
